TheOne Co., Ltd. Wins Propulsion Motor Design Engineering Service Contract with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering

TheOne announced on the 15th that it had won the Propulsion Motor Design Engineering Service for the Development of a Verification System for Naval Electric Propulsion project promoted by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.

This project is part of the construction of a land-based test facility designed to test eco-friendly electric propulsion systems.

CEO Jeon Gyeong-han stated, "We also plan to sign a contract with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering for the manufacturing and supply of propulsion motors in the near future.” He added, If we win this project, it will become our third land-based test facility project, following the contract to supply high-capacity inverters to the land-based test facility of the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI).

 

Recently, the Korean government announced the 1st Basic Plan for Eco-Friendly Ships,” which presents the basic direction for the development and promotion of eco-friendly ship technologies.

The 1st Basic Plan is being promoted under the name “2030 Greenship-K Promotion Strategy,” with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from ships and creating new markets in connection with the Green New Deal.

A government official emphasized,The transition to eco-friendly ships is an unavoidable obligation under international regulations and a new challenge for the shipping and shipbuilding sectors. It will also serve as an opportunity to advance the industrial ecosystem to the next level..
